The commander of the Leibstandarte, the first SS Panzer Korps and later 6th SS Panzer Army. Dietrich had a fondness for personal uniform flourishes. He was the only Waffen SS General to have gold insignia on his uniform. The sculpture shows him in August 1944 after being awarded the diamonds to his knights cross, oak leaves and swords.
